please critique this recording!

this song is only fifty seconds long, so no big download committment. this is one of the first recordings i have done with any frills, and while i am well aware of the obvious problems, please scrutinize this recording to death.

You have a fast server there, shredded. :p Sounds like you're using a tuba for a bass guitar ;) (Just in certain parts). It's got that punk rock sound to it, kind of "The Clash". Pretty good balance in the mix, but if that's a real bass guitar -- you've EQed the life out of it.

There are some plosives in the vocals -- "...to P-rove to you..." etc. The drums are a bit buried, esp. the snare. The toms aren't resonating, or you've eq'ed that out. Other guys would make better observations (like mixmkr and Tex). Why don't you post this link in the MP3 mixing clinic? :confused: More people would probably comment there. :cool:

yeah, that's a real tuba in the third verse. i like its tone better than the bass :-) . thanks for the notes on the Ps and the kit. i will put them to use. i shall now post in the mp3 clinic. didn't even realize it was there. thanks again!
