For those few pitchy parts - punch in/out can come in handy if your DAW does not support pitch correction.
The plectrum is a bit disturbing for me. Others might disagree on this. You dont have to agree with this, it is just my own taste and preference

Tune that damn guitar. You can't possibly sing in pitch with something that isn't in tune to begin with...

You have a quality in your voice that could be something special. Just make damn sure you learn to control it.

No comments about mixing and mastering until the performance is worth commenting on. Just sayin...

Yip, that guitar is hella out of tune man. I must say I'm not a big fan of the plectrum either, I think a different guage pick might help, or just pay more gently, or with your fingers, it's just sounding too harsh, esp next to your vocals. Your voice is not bad though, it would just sound a lot better if those two things with the guitar were sorted. You actual guitar playing is good as well.

Hi Lance.

As everyone has said, you have to tune the instrument. When you're recording, you have to be even more persnickety about it than you do live. There is absolutely no excuse for an out of tune instrument in a recording environment. There is no form of artistic expression or ironic hipster obstinance that justifies it. If you want people to listen, you must play in tune.

Now, on to the rest. Beyond the severe tuning issues with the guitar, the picking technique is harsh and brittle as well. I'd try it without a pick, strum with the thumbnail and nail of your middle finger, like you're holding a pick. That will give you a full sounding strum with some control and you can do the picking parts with your fingers. The style of tune would be served more by a gentler guitar technique. The vocal take is fine, but you've probably gone a little far in "producing" it. You have some sharp sibilance in there, and you need to get a pop filter on the mic; you have some breath rush overload in a few places. Also, the word "nothing" is very odd and distracting when pronounced "Nuh-Ting". I think it could do without the echoey thing, and a more traditional gentle reverb in its place.

Pretty good performance - it sounds live. The tuning is definitely off. The guitar is a little bright. The whole mix sounds roomy like the microphones are several feet away - maybe it's the reverb... Compress that guitar a bit too..

wow what a voice. im sure youll go a long way with that. the guitar sound is a bit trebly and distorted and also quite out of tune. im sure you can do that track again easy enough.
