But if the wheels are bad? Can you build a car than?

Please stop arguing...

If you actually wish for advice, then take it for what it is worth. If you do not, then stop asking. It is not really possible to judge a mix or a song with parts of the tune.

I don't hear anything inherently wrong with the tracks you posted but I also cannot say if they will work with everything else.

Jimmy thank you. Yes I understand that one cannot judge a part of the mix. I asked only if there everything sounded ok for this part. For example there could have been bad electric guitar sound - flat for example without ambience, or kick could have too much bass artifacts because of rBass. That is what I was asking for. But, ok I shall not post partial mixes, and I shall not respond to posts that do not addresses my question with appropriate answer.

Thanks.

Tear it down into small pieces, and than burn it to ashes. :)

Please provide feedback on mix.

Thank you in advance.

The flute-synth, when it comes in (for the 2nd time) around 1:40 sounds distorted - clipping when recorded, or intentional? I found the toms ping-ponging in the mix towards the end a little distracting - I tend to keep the width on my drums narrow, as if they were right in front of me, rather than me sitting in the middle of the them (or in the case of your toms, between the two). But maybe this is the effect you wanted, too.

About clipping cannot say anything - have to check but i use brickwall limiter as the latest vst in the chain on master bus, -0.4dB. Flute isvsti imported as 32 floating point so it must have noclipping neither. Anyway I shall check it later, maybe it is due to soundcloud, maybe it is my omission. I totally agree with you and other sound engineers who states that drum panning must not be wide because it is unrealistic and even when you come close to drums you won't hear that wide panning. But I love toms with wide panning, it is my disease.

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for such detailed comments. May I bother with one more question. My friend has KRK Rockit 5. I can take them from him for a day or two. Question is should i do this or they will give no help?

Again thank you.

If you'll let me pitch in...

If you're going to buy monitors to create commercial mixes, they won't come cheap. I had the pleasure of being part of a shill event today where a small UK company presented their top of the line speakers (go for about 4.3k pound per piece). I was never so overwhelmed by a sound in my life. Even old classics like Back in Black sounded like completely different recordings. I left speechless.

What I'm trying to say is that good monitors will go far. I have KRK 8s because I'm a poor student and I'm going to flip them down the line to minimize my loss (already got them used). I don't rely on them for much more than "Does it sound like total shit y/n?".
Big investment in, big sound out.

Please provide feedback on mix.

The intro acoustic guitar is a bit thin - did you take off too much low end? The kick and the toms are a bit too loud - they're way overbearing compared to the rest of the mix - it's like there's a band with a giant drummer. The kit's panned a bit wide, and seems skewed left. Why not narrow it a bit?

Thank you for your valuable comments

Schwarzenyaeger - do you remember name of that company?

Acoustic guitar - yes it is not ok. I have to re-record it. Drums panning - no :) I like wide toms, i shall check about "skewed left"

Again thank you very much. Going to re-record acoustic guitar.

I listened to the first and last mixes. Couldn't hear much of the first one, but there seems to be an improvement from first to last. I'll just comment on the last mix.

The acoustic guitar is a little boxy sounding. The "bouncy kick" in the intro is quite a bit too loud I think. It also has that "bouncy" kick sound that many times comes from not enough low midrange and too much compression. The kick is at a better level when the electric guitars kick in.

The vocal sounds like it's sitting on top of everything else. Like the singer is five feet away and the band is 35 feet away.

The rhythm change at about 1:48 doesn't work for me. Sounds like the band falls apart.

Vocal sounded pretty good. Very clear and nice tone.

First, thanks everyone for commenting.

Main problem was acoustic guitar. I have recorded with NADY SCM 960 (different positions) and then with Sure SM 57 (also different positions). I have taken track with Sure SM 57.
Now it seems I cannot control kicks and bass guitars. Cannot find listening spot. I mean I cannot find from what spot to listen to :) And on different loudness levels there is a difference in balance but that is natural as far as I know.

Anyway, I would like to bother you again with asking feedback from you.

Thank you in advance

This guy gets 4 pages worth of comments....and counting.......

Wow! That's it for me. This is ridiculous.

This is his schtick. Create controversy with the hope of selling an MP3 single.

Gave a listen. Did not like. Please close this topic :) No sense here for bothering people. Everyone thanks for comments.
Removing mp3s.
