Hi there,

I've been trying to import wav files recorded through cubase sx2 (on PC) into Protools (mac).

I'm getting the error "cubase is unable to read audio files" and I'm wondering why this might be? All the files are standand wav files and are recorded at the right sample rate etc. I've tried other wav files NOT recored through cubase, and they are working fine.

I'm not sure if this is a PC to mac issue, or a Cubase to Pro tools issue, or if its another common problem that I am unaware of. I've tried searching through all the forums but no luck - as you can tell I'm new to all this!

If anyone has any advice they could offer that would really be a great help.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers,
Colbol79.

Are you sure they are the right sample rate? Whenever I get that message in PT, it's because I have something that is recorded at 32, and I need to convert it down to 24 or 16. I record in Audition, and it's set to 32, and if I want to put it into PT, I need to first convert it down, then it's fine.

Just my thoughts. Might not be whats happening.

You probably have to actually export the individual files out of Cubase, and then drag them into Pro Tools. Pro Tools will convert the files if needed when you pull them in. If your files in Cubase aren't solid tracks all the way through, then you'll probably have to do mix downs of all of them. That should do it.

Brilliant - thank you so much for your help. The wavs were at 32, and I need to take them down to 16. So simple really!

Absolute star - cheers
