I'm running CEP2.1 on my XP. I have 512MB of RAM, 37 Gb of hard drive space (i know, not much, but I'm about to upgrade...), and a Pentium 4 1.69 GHz processor. Now my question is...what should i have my buffer settings at? In multitrack view, click on Options > Settings > then click the Multitrack tab to see what I'm talking about. Should I stick with the defaults or are there some better settings. What is happening is when I start recording, at first everythings timing is right, but the further along I go, it starts to slip. Everything is being played at the right time, its off during playback though. Didn't know if changing the buffer settings would fix it or not. Thx

mines doing that same thing, its annoying as hell. i'm wondering if its because i have it set to save temp files to the backup harddrive and have the program on the master harddrive. someone earlier told me to click the correct for drift box in settings/multitrack but i havent had a chance to try it yet

ok, i tried "correct for drift" and the first time i used it i had a session already opened before i clicked it and then all of the tracks i recorded after it were pitch shifted up for some reason/ then i closed out the session and opened a new one and now after i record a track it takes a few seconds to correct for drift and you can see the wave move a few milliseconds and then it lines everything up with the first track. seems to be working fine for right now, i must be getting some serious latency through my sound card though for this to be happening. it wasnt happening when i had a 10 dollar no name card in it, but now that i got a sound blaster live it has started, very frustrating so i know how you feel. also, i see youre mustang for life title, you should check out my 88 GT convertible in my myspace page, link below.
