Planning to upgrade gear

Hey all,
I was unsure whether to post this in the newbies forum or not(although i have been recording for a while now)
My current recording setup is

1)decent pc/winxp/cubase sx 2
2)Delta 44
3)Audio-buddy
4)yamaha MG 12/4

I monitered this all through an old p.a.

What im wanting to be able to do is, record a drumkit with about 6 mic's, while he/she follows guitars/vocals on headphones(behringer headphone amp?)...
to mix this i would like to buy a Tascam US 428 (for ease of use and less mouse usage)

After mixing the drums down to one track i would like to then be able to have everyone overdub their guitar/bass/vocal etc over the top.

I am wondering whether to upgrade to a delta 1010 or to maybe save up a tad more for the Presonus firepod (because of the preamps).

A recap of what i would like my setup to be,
1)My pc
2)Delta 1010 or Presonus firepod
3)Behringer headphone amp
4)Tascam US 428 mixer/controller
5) Wharfdale 8.1's/8.2's (powered monitors)

Is this a good idea, have i missed anything, thinking about it, would i need a another larger mixer for everything before its recorded? or will my MG 12/4 do, plus will i even need the MG in the setup nemore?

Yeah if you get the firepod, then you can ebay the 44 and the 12/4.

Cheapest way to go would be to replace the 44 with a 1010LT for $220. The MG12/4 has 6 preamps, and the LT comes with another couple so that gives you 8 tracks.

Of course the 1010 will dowhat you want as well, it's just twice the price as the LT

I think im going to go with the Firepod, but ill have to keep the audio buddy for the phantom power for the condensors (or does the firepod include phantom?)

Would i still be able to use this with the tascam 428 as the 'controller' for cubase......?

Just noticed it has phantom power,
I read some more reviews on this site and have decided this will be the card to get.....
