until now i have been playing around in cubase sx and i use insert effects on my tracks. my question is, what if i want to use a flange on a vocal , but only during a chorus? do i have to copy that part of the vocal track to a new track and then apply the effect to the new track? or can this be done in the automation track?

thanks

lomky is right.

And I suggest you to get familiar with SX's automation because it's easy to use and you can do almost everything you can imagine so...

What about cubase SL?

Does Cubase SL include the automation feature as well?

I'm not sure, but I would suspect it does, cause VST (what I'm currently using) has it.

which way of doing this is the easiest? after reading about audio regions , clips etc, it seems pretty confusing. i can see that when you have to use a cpu intence operation it would be better to use the audio region method , that way your computer isnt doing all the work on the fly(time strech or pitch shifting etc.) what do the you guys prefer?
