I have been mixing with a pair of KRK ST6s. I am adding a pair of Polk Audio Monitor 30s and a JBL 8" sub from a home theater system I use to have, just to check my mixes from the KRKs. I figure the Polks and the sub would give me a reference on a typical lowend system.

Since the Polks have a little smaller footprint than the KRKs, I was thinking about stacking them on the KRKs with a pad in between. Is this a bad idea, or should I try and find the room to place them beside the KRKs?

thanks

Next to is better than on top of.

The height and vertical alignment with your ears is important...though you want them spread evenly so that you still have an equilateral triangle.

Just put them right next to the KRK's.

I don't know why, but my KRK 6's translate to the car , cell phone, and computer speakers (all kinds) VERY VERY WELL almost perfect.

It might be because I mixed for so long without monitors and had to burn so many cds to reference that something magic happen

or I just get lucky lol
