im recording from an MPC 2000 into audition through an AC97, which is some bullshit, i know...anyway, after I record the tracks, they play slightly faster than they really are originally, does anybody know why this is? The card? the sample rate? slow comp?

is it the whole song or just the first couple bars thats to fast?

The sample rate of your recording should not effect the timing, the sound card wouln't be the problem neither but a messed up computer is hard to pin point what exactly is messed up.

It may have something to do with your settings of the midiclock you are using. I'm not familar with the AC97 but I know if properly linked the MPC is not the problem. My suggestion would be to see if there are other options in your Midi Sync to use or try switching which equipment is the slave and master around to see if you get the same effect.
