Hello,

So far I haven't been able to find an answer for this and I hope I'll get lucky here ;) I'm looking for a software based pitch (key) changer that shifts the key of a backing track to the desired key, kinda like those karaoke digital key changers but is software based and not hardware. I am aware that such things exist on cool edit 2000 and others but do any of those key changers exist, as plug-ins or stand alone software, and do a good and accurate job ? So far I either can't find a stand alone version or the stuff that comes bundled with other software sucks or is painfully slow!

Thanks very much.

Daniel

Antares AutoTune, but even more effective is Melodyne.

Melodyne is a stand-alone application (not a plug-in) while the Autotune is a plug-in.

Bruce,

autotune is monophonic.im pretty sure it wont move keys of an entire backing track.

i could be wrong, but ive never noticed the ability to do it.

Actually, you're right Romesh.... melodyne will do it easily (and very well) though!!
