Need Help -- Pitch altering plugin?

Hey,

I am running Logic 7.1 on Mac OS X. I've just really getting into it, moving from my old tape multitracker. One feature I wish i could have on the computer that I had on the tape multitracker was the pitch altering. This way, I could pitch down the song and record background vocals for example.

I am wondering if any of you know any sort of plugin for Logic on Mac OS X (AU preferable) that has the same sort of functionality as the old tape multitracker pitch knob. I tried the plugins that logic came with, Enhance Pitch and Pitch Shifter, but neither work correctly and definitely don't sound good enough for real work.

Thanks in advance mates

Are you sure Logic doesn't already come with a plugin that does this? I don't use Logic, but it's a pretty basic/standard plugin that came with every other DAW I've ever used. It may not be a real time plugin, maybe an offline process/utility. I'd check your documentation before spending any money

I flipped through and the only real references to pitch are in reference to Pitch Shifter II, the plugin that comes with Logic, but it is meant to really just be used to slightly correct things that are out of pitch. Not really equivalent to the tape multitracker pitch shifting ability.

I'm hoping some Mac gurus or Logic gurus can help me find a solution. My voice is too far gone for me to hit those high notes again.
