Pioneer PDR 509 cd recorder?

Any opinions on this? Looking for a good cd recorder.

I know the pdr555rw is highly regarded here.

But I'd like to get one locally and they have this one for cheap at local shop. $60
 
(ps i know its not an analog device...BUT im getting one to avoid using a computer for my reel to reel masters to enter digital world!):o
 
I took a quick look on Junkbay to see the model you were talking about. It looks like this unit is not rack mountable. Does that matter to you? I have been looking at a Tascam CDr only to dump my analog projects to cd. I know they are expensive but I think the Tascam might do a better job. Since it is more pro, I'd think the converters would be better then a consumer burner. I might be wrong.
 
IMO the 509 and 609 are not quite up to the 555, but not bad either. The $60.00 price makes it pretty attractive. Or you could save for a pro model like the HHB CDR850 or Fostex CR300, which are based on the 555. Those are still the best IMO.
