Pintech triggers or otherwise

I am moving into an apartment soon and I would like to be able to track drums on demos I record at home when I'm not able to mic my kit and use my main rig. What I was thinking of doing is construcing some cheap "drums" with mesh heads and use triggers on the heads and for cymbals I figure I could use a couple of my old cracked practice cymbals or get a couple of alesis cymbal trigger pads. If I want to do this, I will need some triggers and I have seen Pintech triggers on ebay for relatively cheap. I am not sure what module I would want to use. I was thinking maybe a DM5. Basicly I would record the "drums" as analog through the module and MIDI in which I would trigger samples with the MIDI track and just use the analog from the module (DM5) as a scratch. Has anyone had any experience with Pintch triggers or have any suggestions that might be better? All opinions and ideas are welcome. Thanks a bunch.
