Pinch Roller problem with Tascam 38

So my other thread in here seems to have yielded the conclusion that this noise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHXEupVeiFgis a result of something wrong with the pinch roller. Now, is there anything I can try to remove that noise other than replacing the pinch roller? Some sort of cleaning or polishing fluid? If it becomes necessary to replace the pinch roller, is that something I can easily just do by myself?
Thanks!

Just give teac/tasscam parts a call and order a new pinch roller. You just unscrew the cap and lift out the old roller and drop the new in its place. Nothing to it.

That roller uses a ball bearing so other than lube there is not much you can do to it. I would not toss it. And a new roller would not hurt.

While you are at it I would order the thrust washers for the tension arm rollers (4 washers) and thrust washers for the idler roller (2 washers for the large left hand roller). You most likely do not need to replace these but you may be missing one or two and it does not hurt to spend the few $ more and save shipping later if you find out that you do need them.
