Just started using CEP ( messing around trying to figure it out ).......say I record stereo drum machine on tracks 1 and 2, lock in time.......then save session as.......then later start up and open session, shouldnt it just load the session, instead of giving me a window with wav 1 and wav 2 ?
Should I just " save session " ?

I don't really get what you mean.

Do you mean that it asks you to locate the files when you open a session?

After you have recorded the tracks make sure you save the session. The session is just a file that tells the indivual tracks where to start and end and their positioning.

The actual wav files themselves hold the audio data. That's why they are so big and the session is so small.

look for the ".ses" file- not the wav file (maybe that'll help maybe not)

That depends.

If you record in multitrack view you should save the whole session which in turn will ask you to save the wav files as well.

If you record in edit view you wont have a session so you should just save the wav files.

The difference between save and save as is that save as usually means that you want to save the file as a different name or in a different location.
