Bump so I can get to it easily when I get home from work.
P.S. Billy Bragg's main offsider was a Wiggy!

Beautiful music. You've managed to create something out of the ordinary with this. I would buy it.

My only comment for your consideration is: To me the piano sounds a little edgy and that combined with the wide pan forces a little too much attention to the piano I think. The format is so simple and pure, just a piano and flute (and bass instrument I can't identify) that the modern "studio" production takes away a little. For me if things were made to sound as though they were in the same hall and being picked up by the same mic I would even be more excited about this.

Enjoyed it as is too.

Charming, delightful, and lovely. And a tad overproduced... It's more than a bit 'verb heavy, and the flute EQ is all middly... With a more "organic" mix and master, drier, more upfront and honest, this becomes oen of the more gorgeous things I've heard in many months. I'd buy it like this, but I'd leap on it if it sounded "natural"....

Cheers,

Sounds lush & luscious.
I'm not sure of the value of the bass track - to me it means I can't focus on the piano's bass lines.
It'd be interesting to hear a dry version or even a snippet.
What's that sound in the background - it reminds me of a snare rattling in a live recording. It's some sort of synth pad I suppose but a bit distracting.
Wow, sorry - that's two distractings I threw in.
Very nice playing and capture.
Are you planning to remix?
Flute is the toot!
Enjoyed this thanks!

Thanks ac, for listening. I agree that there are some verb issues at play here.

This may be able to be remixed or re-tracked pretty easily depending on the time I have. Tony and I are planning a few of these in the near future.

Thanks, eyema, glad you like it.

Thanks, Phil, Yeah a more organic approach might be in order. We definitely have to be on the same stage here. LOL

Thanks, Ray, A remix is possible as well as a re-track totally. The bass instrument is a patch called "wide basses" that we might do better without.

Maybe an acoustic bass would be better. I could envision that, a piano, a flute and an upright bass.

Thanks all for listening

Sounds cool, but I'm not sure I like the compression on the piano (or the master bus, but I can hear it on the piano). A song like this I think should use very little compression.
