I absolutely love this!!! I like the way you have arranged it, and the teases with the quiet piano/voice into strong harmonie vocals with added instuments. I did not care for the 'dry' drum sound at around 3:00(but after a few listens, (I really like it), which is built up,then joined by full bodied sounds. The piano is great!!! And the vocals, and the drums, and so on!

Great job as far as I am concerned! It has that natural raw feel, and I do live that.

Wow, guys, nice buildup in this tune. Piano is somewhat ominous at the beginning. Sorta dark, but not all of the tune is dark. Very moody though. And the vocals.....man, way killer job. I love the feel of the song. Love the way everything builds up big at 2:00. Great swell there. Awesome tune. I also am not sure about the crackly record sound, but itdoesn't detract from the tune. Just a personal preference thingy there. And great ending. Very clean. Excellent.

Gorgeous. Complex tune and harmony. I especially like the vocal/piano first couple minutes of the song.

I'd leave out the vinyl effect in the beginning. Maybe also widen the piano if possible.

Thanks for the great comments !!!!

This one is a bit different. There is no guitar in this song whatsoever!!! Also, this recording was done on our 'old' gear, probably sometime last fall/winter.

The 'old vinyl' sound was supposed to make it sound a bit antique, or add some weird level of tension. But it is so obviously 'new' and 'digital' sounding for the most part that it doesn't really accomplish what it is supposed to. I could probably take it or leave it at this point.

My chief question to anyone listening to this song is: Are the beginning portions too quiet in relation to the rest of the song (when the drums kick in)?

Good job, i enjoyed it.

The last line before the drums come in. "it makes me think of hurricanes and butterflies". Do you listen to muse by any chance?

Nope. Who are Muse?

You guys are in a class of your own around here, and I'm trying not to lay it on thick. A few people stand out who post here regularly, and everyone has something interesting to offer. But if I heard this tune or "What you were meant to be" on the radio, I would immediately go buy the album. Nice melody, and all the little subtleties that seperate a good song from a great one. Awesome.

RAMI - Incanus will agree with me when I say without hesitation that the feeling is mutual. Steve and I feel very outclassed and are lucky to be even talking to folks like Tim Lawler, yourself or Finster.... Y'all are the masters and we the students. Thanks for your kind words.

Well, I used to have respect for you. But now that you put me in the same sentence with Mr.'s Lawler and Finster, I KNOW you're deaf. :) :) :) :) :)

Then I must be deaf too, because I put you in the same class as them also!!! :)

Dude, really.

I have to agree with 'creep.
When I first heard a song of yours my eyebrows shot up for a few seconds, and then I fell back into my chair with a smile growing upon my face. I think I said aloud, "Sweet! Oh yeah! Listen to that! Damn! This is the shit, right here!", or something like it.

Really I need to listen to more of it when I can. . .

Thanks much though, man. It means a lot.

Very british sound...sounds great...but I really...really...don't like the drums.

Reminds me of....Beatles....and especially Elliott Smith.

Thanks, Nutdotnet -

What about them in particular don't you like?

-Casey

Sounds good. Not really my kind of music, but it's the kind of thing I can sit back and relax too... A really good mix too in my opinion. I with the others though, the vynal is a take it or leave it kind of thing. It doesn't really add too much nor would it take anything away. Good voice too... What did you use for Harmonies? Machine or just harmonizing with yourself?

Eh...I don't know...they sound too "boxy" to me; but it could just be the speakers I'm listening on.

No machines. Just eight or so vocal tracks at the bridge and end. The vinyl sound we tried to use to create tension and make it sound kind of creepy. I think it works, but may be a little too loud.

Thanks for the kind words, Monkeymanx
