Hey guys,

I've just had a pickup installed in my Washburn. It's a little Belcat unit. I am currently not running it with a preamp onboard because of the fact that the back and sides are rosewood (I definitely don't want to be ruining that sort of wood), although I know this pickup really does need one. Currently, I have an external preamp on order.

Currently, it sounds terrible (this is what it sounds like when recorded with a flat EQ through my Behringer desk into my PC). It sounds like it's being passed through some sort of high pass filter. I'm assuming the preamp will help with that, or would I need to do something else to get a more reasonable sound out of it? If it didn't have the problem of the lack of lower frequencies, this would be almost exactly the sound I'm wanting out of the pickup with a little bit of tweaking.
