piano note sounds when I press record

Hey, guys. I apologize in advance as I didn't search this very well, but I am on my phone and in the middle of a session...

I've been using Sonar 8 PE for years and this is the first time it's done this. When I press record, a MIDI piano note sounds. I have no idea why/how it does this, but it's annoying and embarrassing. Maybe I accidentally hit a button or hotkey or something?

Any ideas?

The metronome was off. In a Hail-Mary, I disabled all of my MIDI devices and that did the trick. It would also sound a different note when I muted a track while the song was playing. Weird.

The only thing I can think that caused it is that I use a Frontier TranzPort wireless controller. I've been using it for a while with no problems, but maybe something got screwy recently?
