Phantom Power Question

It's about powering mics so Im asking here...A 80W and a 100W PA that I'm looking at both say in their specs that their Phantom Power is at +15V.....whats's the point of this when it's usually 48V?? Will it even run my SP B1 condenser?? Thanks BJ

With Electret type condensor mics it wouldn't be a problem as the phantom power only powers the active electronics of the mic and doesn't have to charge the diaphram. So it would depend on the mic as to whether 15 volts is enough or not. On mics that require more than it could provide, it could change the way they behave.
