Oh REALLY????
ok,

i finally recorded something (guitar)! (good for me...) but what does the pfl button on my mixer mean? there's one on each channel. (btw recorded with sb16 and inkel1010 mixer and sm57-> still sounded great to me...)

thanks,

guhlenn

PFL = Pre Fader Listen.... lets you hear the channel signal, regardless of the channel's fader level.

PFL is also useful to take the returns from your sound card or recorder and monitor them over the phones to sync with while tracking a new signal like vocals or acoustic guitar to keep the prior tracks from bleeding into the open mike.
For live use,you can PFL any individual strip on the board to locate a problem without being distracted by the rest of the mix.
