My main concern with small studio I'm hoping to build is to minimise sound transmission.
I'm aiming for an STC of 55-57 which will hopefully be quiet enough for the rest of the family while I practise my Bonham beats & Manson screams.
I'm going to use two layers each side of 'noise' rated plasterboard suspended on rails attached to the wooden studs. Concrete floor with timber overlay.
I'm interested in what you guys with studios have done with regard to light switchs and fittings, powerpoints etc, anything that would penetrate the walls. I've also got to run an ethernet cable out to the web server in another room - yet another penetration.
How have you guys dealt with this situation? Is there an easy solution?
