Does anyone know where to find settings (equalizer frequency) of popular metal bands? I am using a small beginner set-up; Boss Metal Zone distortion into a Boss Eq-20 equalizer into a small Marshall amp. My goal is to set-up my equalizer presets to certain bands i.e. Megadeth, Van Halen, Iron Maiden etc. Any help is much appreciated!!

just turn bass all the way up, mids all the way down and higher mids to highs (or presence if you have) up ... and voilá ... instant cr@ppy metal guitar sound

You're probably going to have to find those EQ settings on your own. It depends heavily on the guitar used, pickups, playing style, amplifier, cabinet speakers.

Anyone telling you to boost 500hz here or there really doesn't know your particular setup....
