MADE OF SANDALWOOD
So, I had heard all about these amps and have been avoiding playing on one because I knew it wouldn't live up to the hype. Well, yesterday I was at a small shop and they had one. So while waiting for dude to get a bass drum head from the back, I decided to plug in and play it through a Mesa 212 cab. Turns out I was absolutely stunned. I ended up playing for about 20 minutes until the guy told me they'd been closed for 15 minutes. So I did what anyone who had stayed past their welcome would do and asked how low he could go on the amp. $350 was it, and so I happily said "yes, oh god yes." Got back to the practice space and plugged it into my 1960 and more yes oh god yes yes please more yessss was uttered. And now, this is my main amp. My only complaint is that the case/cab/whatever you want to call the beast is ugly as sin. I will be building one much shorter. But other than that, for a 12AX7/EL34 beast (at this price at least), I couldn't be happier.
