I'm just selling my Vs-840ex, qy700 sequencer, and CD recoedre to go to a computer based system. Is anyone familiar with those USB interface packages such as Peavey?Cakewalk StudioMix? Or the ones by Tascam or Roland?
I have studio Mix. It is the cheapest answer to a control surface that I have found, and it works seemlessly. As long as you have a good sound card you show be set. The Studio Mix console has a Mic and line in Preamp but they are VERY noisy. It works great and I highly recommend it. As far as those USB soluions go, The Tascam US-428 doesnt work with Cakewalk yet, and I followed the Tascam BBS for sometime and found there were alot of complaints. If you are going with cakewalk and are just looking for a remote control, studio mix is the way to go.
