i was just at this place called a world of music looking for an xlr to 1/4inch cable. the guy said that cable was a special order item. i told him that my behringer 802 only had 1/4 and rca outs. he said that sucked that it didn't have xlr outs. he told me the mixer itself sucked and that the peavey was a lot better. i was then told that the peavey has a lot of patented features and they may not be good for other things but the mic pre's in their mixers are great. it was $400.00.
he said that the art tube preamp might be better but it gave a really warm sound to the mic. the advantage over the mic preamp would be the extra equalization i could use to cut the vocals. what do anyone think about this and what would be a better mixer/preamp?
