is anyone here a member of the Pearl Drummers Forum? it appears that i can't register, every time i try it says the administrator has disabled registration or something like that. i wanted to ask a certain member on there a question...:confused::(


do i need to know a secret handshake or something?
 
You need to blow Slipknot1 the Bad Cop Moderator. He likes little boys, so if you're over 16 forget it.
 
I am a member on there. Word. I never had to do anything weird to sign up though.

very seriously, no BS, I had the same problem with the same forum, wanting to basically ask a question... and wouldn't allow me to register and wouldn't respond

conspiracy? :confused:
 
is there any other drummer forums with lots of info on em? preferrably one that isn't run by a bunch of dicks?

Actually...the Pearl guys are all pretty cool. The one dick...Slipknot1...does not work for Pearl. They allowed him and a few others to become moderators because the Pearl staff were simply overwhelmed. At first it seemed like a good idea, but slip has let it go to his head and the Pearl guys haven't caught on...yet. He's a a power-hungry hypocrite who likes impressing little boys with his sensationalized tales of life on the road. Seems he worked a few summers as a part-time mule for a staging/production company, and now likes to embellish a bit...ya know, being an "inside man" and all. Some of the kids think he's great because he answers a lot of questions...and he does do that, but...they are too inexperienced to understand that slip knows nothing more about drumming than that which can be gleaned from Modern Drummer magazine and the internet. Last time I checked...the guy doesn't even own a set of drums. :rolleyes:
 
hey PYRRHO, so is registration just completely shut down indefinitely? i really want to join some sort of drummers forum, and the Pearl one seems to be the biggest.
 
I'm unfortunately allergic to Pearl's crappy drums. Especially their crappy tom mounts.:mad:
 
I'm a member of the forum and have been since '02. (Drummer519). There are some annoying guys on there and certain moderators can be over the top sometimes. It's the internet though, so you need to take it with a grain of salt.

so is it closed forever? i won't be able to register? is the Tama drums forum any good? what are some alternatives?
 
Tama isn't accepting new registrations either. Pearl will probably open again once they thin the herd a bit....probably overloading their server.

I wasn't aware that the PDF had stopped allowing registration. I also frequent the Percussive Arts Society forum and the Mike Portnoy forum, but that's about it for drum stuff.
 
so i finally was able to register for the Pearl Drummers Forum. i think i may have found a new addiction....
 
yup same username. i already made a thread in Show Us Your Kits hehe
