PCI Cards

Hello, i was wondering how much better the sound quality is on a PCI card for a 1/4 cable is vs. using an adapter in a mic input?

you do not use the mic in on your computer's soundcard to record, you use the line in

i dont know anything about the e-mu cards but i GUESS its better quality if you compare with the soundcard that came with your computer (im guessing thats your situation)

i just bought the emu1212 for $160 and i must say the difference in quality was good. the soundcard picks up MUCH less noise than my previous audigy 2 and it gives me a cleaner sound. i'd recommend it. you might run into some problems with the patch mix software... i did for a bit but its nothin too complicated i managed to figure everything out with a lil bit of work.
