Ok, to start off, I am not sure what to look for in a search and I've searched through the threads and never really found something that really answered my questions. Sorry if this is a repeat or stupid question but bare with me.

What I'm looking for is something to hook my monitors(KRK V6) up to my computer to mix music through Cool Edit(possibly changing program later on). I would also like to get an interface that I can use as a mixing board instead of always using the mouse. Something like the Tascam FW1884 or the USB version.

I am not currently recording with my computer, I am using a Tascam 2448, I just want to use the computer to mix with. If whatever I get has the possibility to be used as inputs as well, then that's a bonus.

Thanks in advanced

providing you have a powerfull pc (you didnt post your spec),
i would look at a pci sound card proven solution like a delta.
with the sound card being fed by some nice standalone mic pre's.
this can be pretty inexpensive if you shop right.
but no control surface this way. i dont use control surface.
for me - i dont need one.
read some of my back posts. i would advise against usb usage for audio solutions.
would help if you listed your pc confign.
if you want higher end sound solutions imho , if you have the bucks you'll have difficulty beating rme or lynx solutions.

The specs for the computer I have are a pentium 4 2.8ghz with 1 gig pc3200 ram. The operating system is WinXP pro.

I was planning on going with firewire if I went with a control surface or if someone had better solutions I was planning on investigating that. I've been looking at the deltas, but what should I be looking for for outputs? From what I can tell, the outs are unbalanced RCA connectors, unless I am looking at it wrong. I wish I could say that money is no option, but of course it does play a bit of a part, but I definitely would like quality equipment.

Thanks for the suggestions and if anyone else has something to add, that would be great.
