Hi sorry if this is in the wrong place but....

I upgrade my pc to the below spec but now I just get latency no matter what. When i'm trying to record I just get the clicking and hissing. Its doing my head in. My old pc was half the spec of the current one?!

Any pointer would be much apreciated. Thanks.

My PC Spec:

Intel Q6600 quad core
Windows XP
3gb RAM

Using Cubase, Magix, Sony Acid (any really)

ASIO4ALL driver

Yamaha usb mixer with phantom power etc etc

Thanks

Hmm that is odd, hissing and popping etc. usually means your latency is set too low. Perhaps the hissing and popping is also part of the latency, make sure your beuffer size setting is right, usually the program you use to record will set this for you.

What is your interface, and what programs are you using?

Hi thanks for the reply.

I am mainly using Cubase for full on multi track projects and Magix Studio for one track live recordings. I get the same the problem in both apps.

My Yamaha usb mixer doesnt have any latency drivers but that never mattered on my old PC at all, and as I said, that was only a dual core and had 1gig RAM?!

So other than your processor and ram upgrades there were no other changes made? Go into your audio settings for Cubase and see what the latency settings are. Make sure you have Asio selected.
