I have been recording with a VS880EX. I also have a PC,PIII
450 with 200+meg ram. I'm thinking of doing some recording on my PC, though I have no experience recording with a PC.

I would like to be able to eventually have the ability to link my VS880 and the PC.

For the PC, what soundcard should I buy? What software works best? Keep in mind that eventually I would like to use both the PC and 880 together.

Thanks

brother you are more then capable of accomplishing this task. i have the specs as you but you have more ram. im at 128. i have a dio 2448 sound card. it has optical and coaxial i/o analog connects(rca l/r)and multiple sample rates. thats all i need. all for the low cost of $130 bucks. i use cubase. i love it. i have logic platinum but it looks ugly. i cant stand cakewalk so cubase is my choice. i run the stuff back and forth from vs and the pc. it sounds GREAT!!!!!!!! brother im praying to god that you do NOT have a sound blaster. do what i did. invest in something better you will feel great.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't bought any sound cards or software yet. I expected to buy a soundcard made for recording and I figured that would run a few $$$ but wasn't sure what folks were using that might work with the 880.

Thanks again.

brother are you tellin me you want a sound card that has multple i/o midi connections and a built in mixer? a card like that? well what ever floats your boat. there are many soundcards like that. look at the ECHO series(layla darla and gina) start there and if you need more suggestions i will give you a BIG list of sound cards. brother if you dont mind can you tell me what your running in your set up? like what type of modules and rack stuff and keyboards. id really like to know because you may shell out$$$$$$$ for stuff that isnt needed.

Thanks again for the info. My recording is pretty basic. Mostly acoustic instruments and vocal. I'm not planning on going major studio here but my past experience has taught me that it's cheaper to do it right the first time.

And I'd rather shell out a few extra $$$ to get something that will do more in the long run if I get more into the PC recording.

A lot of folks have recommended the Event sound card family and that may be the way I'm going to go.

Thanks for the help.
