PC/recorder into mixer?

When I'm finished tracking and I'm ready to mixdown, does it matter if I go from the recorder output to the mixer XLR inputs, or should I go into the mixer 1/4" line inputs?

Well, that depends on the particular mixer, and the outputs of the recorder. GENERALLY speaking, you'd go in through the line inputs. On the other hand, I have a console that to come into it at +4 dBu and balanced, you have to come in through the mic inputs (with the attenuattors engaged and the mic trim all the way down).
