Well for $10 you can't go wrong, seem like a good book for noobs. I was only able to read 3/4 pages but that info seemed accurate and to the point.

I have his "Emergency first aid for home recording" which is pretty solid. That's one of the books that formed part of my research before hitting the VST/digital route. He's a good writer and not condescending.
