i gots me a problem. i have little cash. my band is in desperate need of some sort of rig for vocals. we dont have the money to get some brand new, fancy P.A. system, all we need is something that we can use to practise. any alternate choices? i thought of running a mic through a stereo tape deck - would that work without insane feed back?
As you see, i dont know much about this area of P.A.'s/mic amplification. any help/suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Try it and see....does any of the guys have an extra guitar amp you could sing thru (you would have to play with the eq a bit).....if its just for hehearsal, that may work...

You shouldn't get too much feedback that way - provided your singer stands in the appropriate place and doesn't go pointing the mic at the speakers, although I think you'd have to crank it reeaaally loud to be able to hear your singer and that would seriously deteriorate your vocal sound?
