I used to have pre-mature compression. Now, I can barely get the faders up.

I use one of these to run both my clean and effected guitar signals to my Marshall amp (using a Lehle 1@3 switch on the pedalboard and the "thru" input on the DI), then both clean and effected signals to my laptop DAW via the two XLR outs on the DI box.

This is the most versatile passive DI box on the market. Ain't cheap, though.

I use perpendicular compression. It's the same as parallel, but sideways.
