Parallel audio interfaces?

Hi all, I run an Edirol UA25ex with Reaper and never have a problem. However I sometimes would like a few more inputs with mic pre's...
Does anyone know if it is possible to run 2 UA25's at the same time? for a total of 4 in, 4 out, 4 pre's.
The reasons why I would prefer this to simply upgrading the interface are :
- I'm very happy with the unit and mostly only use 2 in/out.
- I can get a 2nd unit more affordably than an upgrade.
- I mostly work without mains power and the other bus powered interfaces still only have 2 pre's even if their track count is higher.

It has optical input, so you could probably connect a dual channel preamp with optical output for a couple of extra channels. The website doesnt say anything about daisychaining multiple interfaces, so it probably won't do it.

i don't know your gear first hand, so stupid question maybe....but

are you on a mac?

Thanks Dastrick, I'll look into the digital input. I think the manual says that if the digital in is enabled it disables everything else.... I'll have to borrow a pre with dig out and try it.

I was kind of angling towards the possibility of getting the computer to recognise two interfaces plugged into two seperate ports as opposed to daisy chaining them...
