In SX 1.0, how do I get the delay to print to a seperate track so that I can pan the delay across the stereo field? How do I do the same with the reverb? I have applied the effects to the tracks before but the effects are always panned in the direction of the original track.

Do you mean duplicate the track and make the duplicated track 100% wet and then pan that? I don't know if that would work right really...

I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks.

Set your reverb or delay as a send effect. On the send effects menu F6 i think set the out put of the effect to another bus or a group folder which you will have created prior. If the effect is set to 100% wet you will now havwe total control of it on its own track or through its own outputs.

Hope this helps

Keith

scrap the bit about groups i just ceck ed and you cant send an effect to a group fader. ATM's suggestion should work fine although only really for audio. If you used vSTi's with midi duplicating tracks woud soon start to consume processing power.

open the set of the audio track in wich you want to apply that.
in slot 7 apply and turn on the delay effect and set it as you want.
Then in the 8 slot and apply the automatic LR pan ,you can choose the ridm and the speed of panning.
this order of the effect apply the pan only to the effect.

Another way is to creat a bus that bring up only the delay effect
Applied to the track then create an automation panning LR as you want on that returned bus.

Helyfede,

I tried your slot 7 and 8 technique and it doesnt work. Why did you use slots seven and eight??? Are you using inserts or sends. Please be more precise.

Thanks for the help

Keith

Suppose that you want to apply that effect to track x.
create a fx channel track (fx1)
Select track x and now click "e" to enter in the track eq,slot, effect ecc..
Select the slot 7 on the right ,(out bus) and click left here and select fx1.
(use of 7 and 8 because they are stereo!!)
Turn the slot on and set it volume to 0,00 db.
Close that window.
Now select channel fx that you have created, and after click "e" to enter in settings.
in the slot 7 activate the delay or reverb effect and put it at a standart level.
Close this window.
Select the fx1channel and click where you see a little + on the bottom left of the track.
Another track will appear.
Where you see the word "mute" select pan left right.
Now activate for this track the "r" read automation.
the line of that track will become green.
Take the pencil and here draw a continued "S" that will be your transition from right to left channel.
Click play and listen.

What do you mean by "fx track". Are you using SX 1 or 2????

Also i have checked the manual and all eight effects slots are the same. Mono in Stereo out.

Thanks for your time

Keith

I don't understand why on the manual they care to tell us to use slot 7 or 8 cause they are stereo ,ex..for use uv22hr dither while export.

Anyway when you create the fx track is the type of track dedicated to effect...Sorry but I've the program in Italian!!
I think it is called effect track.

No mate. You use slots 7 and 8 to dither on the master fader because they are post fader. This is only applicable to the master fader and has nothing to do with stereo.

I think you are refering to group tracks when you say effect tracks and these do not allow you to pan the effects left and right. Have you tried it???? The only way is to send the effects to a different bus or duplicate the tracks (which is possible using group tracks but unnecessary).

Translation appears to have been our problem.

Thanks

Keith

Yesss!!I've tried perfectly what I described in the last post and my voice was delaing and panning LR as I wanted!

It's not a grop of channel it is only the creation of a effect track.
In the coloumn of the track you record ,if you click right a list of possibility appeares.
One of these is "CREATE A FX CHANNEL TRACK" which one, after created has a different colours from the normal stereo track.
It's not a group,it is not a folder track it is a track dedicatet to effect.
When I talked about fx track (fx1)I was referring to that ..sorry if my english is at the BASE!!
At this type of track you can plan transition LR if you want ,as a normal one.

Try to create that type of track and follow the precedent instruction that I write doing it in front of my cubase.

Let me know

YOU MUST BE USING CUBASE SX 2. There is no effect track in cubase SX 1.

Your English is ok my friend but SX1 does not have effects tracks.
