Pannable Reverb?

Hi Cubasers,

I'm trying to find a reverb plug-in (preferrably free) that lets me pan the reverb so in the stereo sound stage an instrument can sound way off to one side yet have the reverb effect mostly panned to the opposite side.

A perfect example of this is the Guitar intro to "Stone in Love" on Journey Escape. I think that whole album has amazing production value but I digress...

Just set up your reverb as a send effect, then go to the FX channel and adjust the pan there, not on the plugin. This way, you can use any 'verb you want to.

Thanks for the reply. By the FX channel, do you mean the window that comes up with the master fader on the left, the EQ in the middle, and the sends on the right? If yes, I didn't realize that the pan above the fader just affected the effect.

When I say FX channel, I don't mean the channel that has your track recorded on it, it is a seperate channel where the signals from the aux sends that are assigned to that reverb go. (Sorry, that was probably confusing.) Pics to follow. Pic #1 is the FX channel. You need to open up the FX channel by clicking the "e" button on the inspector, then you will get pic #2 to pop up. Then adjust the pan on THIS channel (which is the FX channel.)

Hope that I made some sense. Just ask about anything that I screwed up.

Ok, it was pic 2 that I was thinking you were referring to. I didn't realize that the pan control there was different from the pan control in the inspector. Cool!
I'm using LE, but undoubtedly this feature is the same because it's so basic.

I think I may have misled you. The pan control does the same thing whether it is in the inspector, or in the other, more detailed view; its just whether you are using the panning on the audio track, or whether it is the FX track. Anyway, sounds like you got it working. Lemme know if I can help any more.

I totally agree about Steve Jordan, by the by. I thought the Letterman band was much more happening with him. I guess I still haven't figured it out then. How do I know if the panning is being applied to the FX track rather than the audio track?

Okay, this should clear it up. It all depends on whether you are panning on the audio track or the FX track. If you pan the audio track, then you will pan the audio (the guitar, for example). If you pan the FX track, you will pan the reverb signal. You choose between them by just selecting either track, and adjust the pan, either in the inspector, or in the detailed view. The track circled in black is the FX track. Pan this track to pan the reverb. The track circled in white is the audio track. Pan this track to pan the audio (guitar or what have you).
