hi. im new here. im from the uk and im watching cricket lol. im after some overheads for drum mic-ing but i have no money  so im looking for some cheap ones. ive seen some ECM8000's for only £30 but these are 'measurement mics' so would they be suitable???

It means that it is a ruler flat mic used for measuring sound pressure levels, and as a reference point for plotting the response graphs of other mics. By "ruler" flat, I mean that the mics output varies very little across the audio spectrum. For dirt cheap, they are not the worst overheads in the world.-Richie

It just means they're meant to be flat from around 20 Hz to 20 Khz. Nowt to be worrying about, perfectly good el cheapo mics.
