Hi,
I was putting together a "to shoot for" mic cabinet list.
My idea is to gradually buy mic per mic (or per pair), but I'm not too fond of the "chinese mic flavor of the day". My guess I'll benefit more from the trusted classics (Senn 421, AKG 414, SM57, ... type of mics) + all the studio projects, oktava, marshall mic's are not available in Belgium to audition (call me conservative )
For the overheads I was thinking of a couple of AKG C-451's, but then again, what to use for hihat and/or ride ??
But... then I saw in some studio's they use 4 Neumann KM-184 (2xoverhead, 1xhihat, 1x ride) and a friend of mine can get them at a bit under 400$...
Any opinions about these mics ?? Any users ??
thanks,
Herwig
