Output Priority?

I hope I am not just being dumb here! I have a Behringer Multi-Com 4 channel compressor which I use while tracking toms 1-4. They are connected via XLR and outputs are XLR which go to the board and finally the ADAT. There are also 1/4" ins and outs on the compressor.

Is it possible to have the 1/4' ins and outs ran into my patchbay for use of the compressor during mixing? I don't want to do any plugging or unplugging of the rack units., just with the patchbay.

I don't ever really mess with patchbays but normally you would use the compressor during mixing as opposed to tracking. I am guessing that you are using them as a limiter on the toms during tracking?
Im sure there is a way to setup what you want to do but i can't answer that question. You could just insert the compressor on whatever channels you want using the inserts on your mixer and some trs Y cables.

I realize that! I don't think you understand what I mean. I want to have the XLR ins and outs plugged in for trackin AND have the 1/4" ins and out already plugged in the patchbay for mixing. Will both functions work individually without having to unplug anything?
