other types of sequencing

What types of sequencing is there?

1.) Step sequencing
2.) Motion sequencing?
3.) What else please?
 
I like to use DNA sequencing, it's a reletively new concept but it is extremely accurate, no latency anomalies or Midi cable issues over 5 metres. You should look into it, the results can be quite breathtaking. ;)
 
The types of sequencing are...

* RealTime Recorded
* Step
* Pattern (using patterns created using RealTime or Step or both)

Drum machines use pattern sequencing. First you tap in some beats to make a pattern in realtime; or, you step sequence a pattern. After that you string together your patterns to make a song.
 
pattern- u mean you have to connect/string up the step recorded data??

how does realtime sequencing work? when it playbacks the recorded data does it use a gatting circuit?
 
The information flows thus. Most significant bit and least significant bit.

Whats the difference between Analog sequencing VS digital sequencing?
 
analog sequencing is voltage based so the transients are buttery smooth and tuning is not always fixed. it is similar to a step sequencer in use. Here is a good example

Take a look at modular synths. You have to play with 100 pots and plug in 20 odd cables to 'program' the sound you want.

Also, i believe apprigators form a type of sequencing, which have been used in the earliest analogue synths.

It really depends what you mean by the term 'program'.
