Other string instruments?

I was gonna say the hammered dulcimer is nice, but even a cheap one aint real cheap unfortunately.
 
there are a ton of stuff with strings on that move air. Call her bluff...;)
 
I'd like a bouzouki or octave mandolin, but the fair-to-good ones are way out of my price range at this point.
