Original YSM1p collecting dust: Sell or Buy 2nd orig. before new model takes over?

Hello,

I bought a single YSM1p in 2001 as I could only afford one at the time. Unfortunately, I can never find time for home recording anymore now that I have young children, so it's collecting dust in my closet. It appears to me that a newly designed YSM1p is available, and I'm not sure how this would pair acoustically with my original YSM1p.

I hope to blow the dust off it in the future, but from an investment standpoint, do you think I'd be better off buying a second original now while they're still available, or might studio monitor technology improve (or my YSM1ps degrade with age despite no use) in the next 5-10 years that I'd be better selling it now and upgrading to a new pair of the latest best value studio monitor then?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Brian
