Help! I need to find an original copy of CEP 1.2a (with serial number) as a backup. If you upgraded to an newer version and don't have use for CEP 1.2 anymore please let me know. Impossible to find older versions ever since Adobe took over.

Thanks!

Actually, its for my uncle who learned on 1.2a and isn't comfortable with 20. So I'm looking on his behalf. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Do you have an orig CD?

I actually have one. I won't send the original but maybe I could burn a copy. PM me about it.

Burn proof...

Unfortunately, the original CD is burn protected. You can copy it, but it won't install properly without the original CD. But thanks for the offer.

Anyone else have an original CEP 1.2 CD with serial they arent using? Please help.

Thank U!

Exactly. Originals of 1.2 are burn protected. I've tried on a number of occasions and in various ways to defeat the protection so that I can make a backup of my original disk, but it's useless.

(Aside: sorry, I can't sell you mine, cuz I need it.)

Go on. Ask me how pissed off I am about this. I absolutely rely on 1.2 for tracking (2.1 has a lag with my soundcard that I can't overcome...).

In conclusion - yeah, it's gotta be the original disk.

I didn't know about the copy protection. This is actually a case where I would dupe software since Syntrillium is no more. But I am sentimentally attached to the original since I paid $250US for it (=sniff= I'm such a softie) and I may actually need it some day.

I feel your pain...

What started out as an innocent attempt to find an original CEP 1.2 install CD with serial key, turned into a 12 step program for people who miss Syntrillium... Alas, I'm still looking for an Original 1.2 CD with serial key. Thanks for all the support ;-)

I have one. Let me try and dig it out, I think its still in my folks house. Give me until the end of the weekend and I'll let you know.

Papillon, let me know how much $$ and shipping you need if you are able to find it. That would ROCK!!! Greatly appreciated! :-)

Ken, thanks for trying Dude. Already searched E-bay and came up with that same link several days ago. The screenshot is of CEP 2.0, not 1.2... I'm perplexed at how difficult it is to come up with and original 1.2 Install. It's like they have been erased from existance. Hmmmmmmm.

Description

Fully unregistered unused brand new version of Cool Edit Pro v 1.2 by Syntrillium Software. The digital audio software package you've been waiting for. It's a breeze to learn and use, packs enough top-quality digital effects modules to fill a room full of rack mounts, and can mix up to 64 tracks together, using just about any sound card. It's like having thousands of dollars worth of professional audio equipment all in one easy-to-use software package. Still packaged in it's wrapper and it's brand new. No manuals but easily found online!! The photo is of the exact product as it was taken on my bed.

This software retails at £270, check out http://www.broadcastwarehouse.com/p/Syntrillium/Multi-Track-Editors/Cool-Edit-Pro-1.2-(with-1.2a-upgrade)?pid=57

It works on all Windows Platforms including Windows XP and just about any soundcard also."" <<END

I''ve been using 1.1 for a long time and for my needs - 2-channel live recording/editing at home, it's been great. I'm only looking for 2.0 as it supports 24/96 recording which the earlier version doesn't.

ALTERNATES: If you send me your email address, I can send you 1.1 as an attachment (1.75MB) . When you click on this and save it to disc, you can write a CD-R or install from Explorer. I can also send a version called "CoolEdit 96" at 2.2MB. These look and work identically.

Cheers,

Is Audition that different from CEP1?
You can return to the classic mouse behavior when selecting regions (right click sets r/h boundary instead of the new context menu) , and you can hide the new project/file browser pane. Apart from that, I think the program acts, and feels a lot like it always did, but with extra FX and functions that you can ignore if you like.

Woodblack: I don't think that will work. I think you absolutely need the original CD (not a copy) in order to complete the installation process. Unless you've found a way to defeat that.

Have you?

that's not true someone gave me a cd of it a long time ago and it works it looks like they downloaded it

I'd like to know how they did it. I've got an original copy which I've never been able to back up. Oh, I can back it up. But the backup doesn't work. I've asked how to do it on different boards, and nobody's known how to do it. Either that, or nobody's cared to share the voodoo with me.
