I just got Edirol, so I could try to have more convincing instruments for pieces like this.

I actually surprised myself, and really like this piece, but thats for the listener to decide.

MAYbe this is more along the lines of what GECK means when he wants "dynamics". *shrugs* I will find out, I suppose.

Are you suggesting that I'm hard to please?

You may be right!

Okay . . . LouisaVx5 . . .

1. Melodically interesting: a bold percussive melody with great harmonic interaction between the instruments.

2. Sonically interesting: Lots of instruments sharing the melody . . . throwing and passing the ball to each other.

3. Dynamically interesting: I now hear a mountain range instead of a plateau; there are soft glades and jagged peaks.

But am I satisfied?

Well . . . I'm getting there. I still echo my earlier comments about the piano sound, in that all notes seem to have equal weight. I really would like to see some variation there.

The melody was interesting . . . but I would have been excited if I had heard a contrasting counterpoint coming in. I enjoyed the percussive effect for a while, but after a minute I was thinking that some longer, flowing notes would be welcome.

But overall I enjoyed it!

...

thanks geck.

if you werent hard to please, I wouldnt keep asking. LMAO

I might never get a CD out, but will you let me know when there is anything I CAN do with it?

example:

1) people are starting to tell me I cant get a CD out, but I should be making music for videogame people to sift thru and take out the highlights.

2) other people are telling me they hear "bad music" played as a background to hunting videos and shows, and that here and there, they can "hear" a song or two on a hunting video I make.

3) I myself hear TONS of tiny musical ditties in the background on my A&E forensic shows and stuff... and a lot of them are short and uncomplicated, just "cute". Then I read the credits, and under "music" theres like 87 names listed.

If I even get to THAT point (1,2 or 3...) be sure to let me know.

"I'll shoot for the stars, you let me know when i can make it to the moon"

PS - I dont car if they wanna use it as porn music or a hunting video... those people are published professional musicians, too... LMAO

(and i bet they make more than i do at work, LMAO)

Good job SEDstar. I think the background instruments could come up a touch... Like Geck said it's got lots of interesting parts that come and go.
Good luck on your quest to have something published/broadcast. I think this type of material would definitely qualify....
