Nice guitar playin...... again! Vocal sounds too thin, and should be re- EQed. Is that a J-station for the lead?

Twist

Sounds like you struggled a bit with the vocal. Its not bad but it seems like you are working to hit the notes. Also, the arpeggio guitar sounds slightly out of tune, could that be? It might be me hearing it wrong. Nice solo, not crazy about the sound. What kind of guitar is that?

Old Vocal

I recorded the vocal about a year and a half ago before i quit smoking.
The guitar is a Strat thru a Marshall ValvestateVS65R.
I tried to turn up gain for solo. I don't think I like it either.

Singing is so personal and subjective, it's great to have critique sites like this to keep one honest.
Thanks as always.

Ver. 2 coming in a couple of days.

Nice tune, got a good flow to it. The solo guitar played very good, but sounds like you might be over eq`ing to keep the instruments separated and not crowding, but I think you need some more lows on it to give it some more flesh and blood, kinda hearing a hot tube amp grunt when you touch the strings. The rythym had a more natural sound. The bass was nice, i`d roll of some of the extreme low end and it`ll give some room to let the thump on that kick thu a lil better. The vocal is good, but like twist said, it`s thinner sounding, especially on the low end than your other stuff.
Rock on Billy!!

This definitely feels boomy on the low end. Especially in contrast to the rather brittle vox and guitar. I'd do some work down on the low end and maybe fix a few spots where the vocal strains. Also, adding some variety to the drums wouldn't hurt. I actually kinda like that transister radio-sounding vocal. I might soften it up just a tad though, eq-wise.

Cool!

Version 2

Made changes to vocal and lead tone as suggested

yes... HevyD' that puts some meat on the bones there. Voice has more life to it. If I were closer I`d like to check out your live show, I bet its fun.. I bet you could do a mean version of "Outside Woman Blues". I think you reflected you liked Cream before.

Toki

Just the lift I needed today.
I'll have to look that old song up.

Dan;

The Music and Mix are very good. The Geetar work is excellent but the Vox seems a bit thin IMHO. Keep Rockin dude!

change of key

I think I'll try a change of key, the second vocal was better but
I agree with Axe4Yahweh. Still too thin.

Hey Hevy,
Cool song man... ..nice N. Young'ish vibe. The thin vocs kinda provide their own effect. ...cool. The lead guit tone sounds like one of mine man..... :D and that is not a compliment:D :D
...very nice playing though. ...smoove!
...Cool listen

Some of the vocal lines remind me of the song "Yellow".

The singers voice also is pretty unique sounding, I like it. Good guitar work. Are you gonna help your wife on the collab?

Hi Khomp! Sorry to be a buttinsky here but wanted to let you know that my hubby is not helping us with any of it, besides teaching me how to make drum tracks! If time, either kgirl or I'll will learn a basic bass part as well! We decided to not ask outsiders for any parts and gonna do it all ourselves! :)
