i like the production idea of the one guitar keeping the rhythm with no notes played....as for the writing, yes i found the humor, good stuff.....i particularly like the overdubbed voice that effectively delivers the punch line.......i like it man
 
It sounds pretty good. But I have to tell you, it's the cleverness of this tune that carries it. I really like this one.
 
Cool tune,I especially liked the vocals.

The only thing that bugged me was the out of tune acoustic.

your stuff has fun feel when listening to it. Kinda like you sitting on a stool and playing and singin to the folks instead of to the mic.
 
Jamal: It's 2:20 in the morning, I spent the past 2 days at the 1st Annual AUSTIN CITY LIMITS MUSIC FESTIVAL; I saw some famous and some incredibly UNfamous folks play and sing stuff that both humbled me and rejuvenated my dwindling muse; I probably need to go visit my friendly Emergency Room for 3rd degree sunburns (did I mention it was an OUTDOOR 2 day festival...in TEXAS); I have to go to work in 5 hours, and yet...I've listened to this 7 times so far.

Mix comments? Who the fuck cares?!?!?!?! I don't think I could ever give you a serious attempt at a mix suggestion, because I'm always either drawn into some poignent "life memory" swirling around a pop hook, or I'm laughing my ass off....

Oh yeah, I was laughing my ass off on this one... Once again, you've proven that you're not as dumb as your poor typing skills and incomprehensibly fragmented sentence structure originally led me to believe. :D :D

Keep writing and recording a lot - hopefully, you can hire somebody to record it correctly later. Just get it on tape. :D :D

hmn...

my player thing is wigging out.

im trying to listen hi-fi and it plays a little bit at a time. not ideal.

i listened lo-fi and it played like twice as fast as its supposed to so i wanted to listen to it hi-fi.

i was very disappointed to hear that its really slow and doesnt sound like chipmunks...

really it sounds crisp except for the awful drums (?).

the idea is brilliant and if its really original you should copyright it so if somebody like me steals it you can sue us.

good lyrics, good stuff...

kept thinking of the beatles "nowhere man" when i listened to it. just..for some reason...actually maybe becuase i was just listenting to that beatles cover on the board. heh
 
That's really cool Jamal. I don't usually listen to music that has a humour aspect to it. Great singing, and clever lyrics absolutely! Like the guitar sounds!
 
Great song idea and great song writing. Very funny lyrics. "And the girls at Hooters will date me." Great line. The Olsen twins line was good too. And the Ozzy line. Ok gotta stop with that.

Probably not your best performance however. The harmonies were ok, but just ok. They get buried here and there. You may have gone overboard on the drawl in your voice in a few spots. Did the guitar track have a bit of hiss?

Anyway - just my thoughts. Great song. Maybe give the recording another try - I think the song is worth it.

I gotta hand it to you, this was some funny stuff.. You wouldn't believe how similar the concept is to something I did a while ago, but never posted.. actually, mine was quite different and delivered in more of a 'Slipknot' style.. I really liked this though..
