Hey Pipeline,

Any idea if there are any add-ons to Reaper to make organzing and categorizing the plug-ins a little better ?

I know you can drag-and-drop favorites, but I've got hundreds and hundreds of soft synth's and evaluation vst's kicking around, it's kind of tough to find stuff. (Although the search filter helps - if you know the name of what your looking for).

Anyway - not bitching, just curious if you know of any add on's that may be an improvement over the current fx menu ?

(Nothing would surprise me with Reaper..... I mean, look how cool that 'Track Notes' add on is !!)

Damn.... thread is listed as Oraninzing......

.......which is supposed to say ORGANIZING.

Hi Matt,

First off I am brand new to Reaper but I did just read in the user guide how to manage the plugins a little better. Basically you can add new folders in the FX viewer (right click>create new folder), name them whatever makes sense to you then drag and drop the plugins into the newly created folders while still in the viewer. I tried it and found it pretty useful. See page 91 'Grouping FX' in the User Manual.

Hope that helps,

TK

Thanks guys.

Yeah I do that, but I was thinking their might be a way to add other sub categories, like TYPE and COMPANY, and the sort by column.

Oh well, not a big deal.

I'm thinking of having Reaper NOT scan or use DX plug-ins anymore, because it's annoying that is scans them all the damn time, and all my DX plug-ins are just copies of everything I have in VST anyway.

Any reason I should keep the DX stuff ?
