My equipment:
MBox
protools le
Dell 3.2 ghz
512 ram
60 gb hard drive (unknown speed and cache)

my problem:

i run out of buffer size quick, especially when more than 1 track recording simult.

Will this solution work?

Buying a usb2 hard drive with 7200 rpm and 8mb of hd cache?

OR
do i need 16 mb of cache?

I don't do Pro Tools, but...

Disk cache really has little to do with audio recording. Disk cache is significant when dealing with a lot of smaller data, like servers do.

I would a) look at your settings in Pro Tools, and b) buy a second INTERNAL hard drive for your PC. Cheaper and faster.
